Course of Care
Prenatal Care
The time we spend together during your pregnancy is so valuable — for you, your baby, and for me as your midwife. My goal is for you to leave every visit feeling informed, heard, and confident.
Your prenatal care includes:
A standard midwifery schedule:
Visits every 4 weeks until 28 weeks
Visits every 2 weeks until 36 weeks
Weekly visits until birth
Extra appointments as needed
Longer visits: Each appointment lasts about 45–60 minutes, giving us time to talk through all your questions and concerns
In-home birth team visit: Around 36–37 weeks, we’ll meet at your home with your full birth team (including anyone you plan to invite into your birth space) to prepare and make sure you feel supported.
Birth Support
Once your labor begins, we’ll stay in close contact until I come to your home to monitor you and your baby. Your birth experience is yours — you choose how you labor, and I’m there to support you and your comfort every step of the way. When it’s time to welcome your baby, my assistant (a second Licensed Midwife) joins us to help provide care. After your baby is born, I’ll stay until you and your baby are stable and settled in. I’ll remain on-call for you throughout your first six weeks postpartum.
When Plans Change
While we can do so much to encourage a safe, healthy home birth, sometimes a hospital birth becomes the safest option. This is uncommon for low-risk pregnancies, but if a transfer is needed — before or during labor — you won’t be left without care or support. I’ll go with you to the hospital and stay with you as your birth doula and advocate (unless I’m called to another birth). Your postpartum care with me stays exactly the same.
Postpartum Care
My postpartum care is designed to let you heal and bond with your baby at home, with as few trips out as possible during those early weeks. You’ll receive:
2–3 home visits in the first two weeks postpartum
Postpartum office visits after 2 weeks are as follows:
4 weeks
6 weeks
12 weeks
6 months
1 year
Additional visits can be scheduled if needed during this time.
Financial investestment - $8000
Non refundable deposit: $1500 (due at the signing of the contract & informed consent)
Remaining amount due at the end of 36th week gestation.
Minimum payments of $300 due at the end of each prenatal appointment.
Homebirth care includes the entire course of care, a midwife assistant and any additional appointments
Midwifery Care does not include labs, ultrasound, birth center rental, recommended supplements, doula support or birth education classes. Insurance can be used for labs and ultrasounds, with all balances being client responsiblity.
